Dear CMU Shenzhen Alumni,
Happy New Year!
As the seasons turn, we find ourselves standing at the starting point of 2026. Looking back on the Year of the Snake, it was a year in which our alumni family moved forward steadily and grew ever more connected. As we look ahead to the Year of the Horse, we look forward to riding forward together toward even broader horizons.
Looking Back at the Year of the Snake: Growth and Connection
The year 2025 was a fulfilling and heartwarming one for us.
Community Growth: Our Shenzhen community welcomed more than 30 new alumni active in the Greater Bay Area. This fresh energy has brought renewed vitality to our network.
Exchange of Ideas: We hosted two enriching Tartan’s Talks. Special thanks to Yushi Li (TPR 04), Chief Investment Officer of Gaoteng Investment, and Cathrine Zhou (TPR 98), Global Chief Information Officer at HSBC, for their in-depth insights on investment and career development. We are also grateful to Kang Yang (SCS 15), Founder of Shike Culture, for generously providing venue and logistical support.
Entrepreneurial Momentum: Amid the surging wave of AI innovation, Jetson Wu (ECE 23) and Terry Ke (TPR 17) showcased their cutting-edge projects. The strong CMU spirit was unmistakable, and the sparks between technology and business were truly inspiring.
Warm Gatherings: Several casual meetups allowed us to talk about industries and life, parenting experiences and lighthearted venting sessions. Through laughter and shared stories, we grew even closer.
Collective Generosity: During Giving Tuesday at year-end, we successfully reached our challenge goal. Special thanks to Shuangxing Li (TPR 11), Founder of Etna Capital, for leading the way with a generous donation, and heartfelt appreciation to every alumnus who contributed. Your generosity provides a strong foundation and confidencefor the continued operation of our alumni network.
Looking Ahead to the Year of the Horse: Moving Forward Together
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our core team members, who, despite their busy professional lives, passionately carry the alumni network forward with dedication and determination:

In the new year, we warmly welcome more alumni to join our network and support the alumni community.Whether you’d like to host a sharing session, organize a gathering, or simply connect with like-minded friends, our doors are always open and we warmly welcome you.
As we step into the Year of the Horse, we wish all alumni and your families a year filled with both the freedom to gallop across vast horizons and the steadiness to move forward with firm footing. May we continue to embody the distinctive Tartan spirit of pragmatism and passion as we walk our individual paths with confidence and composure. And may our alumni network remain a warm and supportive home in the midst of a busy city - a place where you can always pause, connect, and lean on one another.
Thank you once again for your continued support and companionship. In 2026, we move forward together!
