Administrative Assistant to the Immigration Liaison Officer

The administrative assistant to the Immigration Liaison Officer (ILO) is primarily responsible for the support of the liaison officer in their tasks. The Immigration Liaison Officer represents the Netherlands Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) at the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Guangzhou, China.The main tasks of the Immigration Liaison Officer include:1-Cooperating with countries in the region to prevent, in close cooperation with partners, irregular migration to the Netherlands and partner states; 2-Informing the relevant Dutch authorities on a regular basis about possible new falsifications, trends and routes regarding irregular migration; 3-Training, informing and advising local and international colleagues, including international (immigration) authorities, conveyors and security companies etc. in the region about possible new falsifications, trends and routes regarding irregular migration, human smuggling;4-Advising relevant Dutch authorities on misuse and abuse of migration procedures (such as abuse of visa, residence permit, asylum processes).The administrative assistant is responsible for the quality and punctuality (and at times accurate translation) of the products delivered by the ILO, which include reports on migration trends, advising local and international colleagues - including the national (immigration) authorities - on trends regarding irregular migration and training on irregular migration and travel regulations. Tasks and responsibilities:·Responsible for drafting, processing and adjusting different ILO products such as reports, alerts, PowerPoint presentations and training material;·Responsible for translating (Chinese-English) during formal and informal meetings, presentations and written documents;·Maintaining contacts with local as well as international (immigration) authorities, airlines, handlers and security companies in the region;·Secretarial and administrative support of the Immigration Liaison Officer;·Organising meetings, accommodation, tickets and transport for the Immigration Liaison Officer and contacts (e.g. visitors and/or delegations travelling to or from the Netherlands);·Handling and archiving standard inquiries and requests from the (immigration) network in the region;·Maintaining an efficient working relationship with the ILO Back Office in the Netherlands;·Maintaining an efficient working relationship with the consular departments of the Consulates General in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
