BiUH Introduction
Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (BiUH) was officially approved for establishment in 2023, with strong support and promotion from China's Ministry of Education and the Hainan Provincial Party Committee Government. It is the first university independently established by a foreign higher education institution in the Hainan Free Trade Port, and is also one of the landmark projects with early gains and early arrangements in the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, carrying significant and far-reaching importance.
BiUH currently offers seven undergraduate programs: Computer Science, Digital Technologies, Industrial Engineering, Logistic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, and Business Administration. Germany leads the world in applied technology education. The university has introduced Hochschule Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSBI)'s Work-integrated school-enterprise collaborative talent cultivation model, along with Germany's advanced applied talent cultivation philosophy and teaching methods. It emphasizes a deep integration of "industry, academia, and research," guided by applied innovation and oriented toward graduate employment and the service of local regional economic, cultural, and social development, providing students with learning opportunities closely tied to industry. To date, the university has signed strategic cooperation agreements with well-known domestic and international enterprises including Weidmüller, TRUMPF, ZF, Victor Automotive Technology, KPIT, China Unicom, China Mobile, and China Telecom.
